Louisiana Man Arrested After Allegedly Threatening to Blow up a Courthouse and Kill People

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office reported on July 19, 2022, that Caddo detectives arrested a Shreveport, Louisiana man on Monday, July 18, 2022, who allegedly threatened to blow up a Shreveport courthouse and kill African Americans, according to Sheriff Steve Prator.

According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, the threat was first reported on Monday afternoon. Further investigation revealed that Patrick Duffy, 41, of Shreveport, Louisiana, allegedly messaged a known person about his plan to “blow up” a Shreveport courthouse and kill African Americans in Shreveport.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Duffy for one count of communicating false information of planned arson and one count of a hate crime. The warrant was signed by the Honorable Judge Victory with a bond of $50,000.00 for each charge.

Duffy was arrested at his Shreveport home on Monday night. He was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
