Louisiana Man Arrested After Allegedly Stealing Telephone Cable From Multiple Locations in Shreveport Area
Shreveport, Louisiana – A man from Louisiana was arrested after allegedly stealing telephone cables from multiple locations in the Shreveport area.
On June 8th, 2023, Sheriff Steve Prator of Caddo Parish revealed that a Shreveport, Louisiana local had been apprehended for allegedly stealing AT&T telephone cable from two or more sites.
Detective Zack Jordan of the Caddo Sheriff’s Office conducted a thorough investigation and discovered that in April, telephone cable had been taken from an area close to Lakeshore Drive and St. Matthias Drive, resulting in a loss of over $3,000. This led to a felony theft warrant being issued for Barry Thomas, 55 of Shreveport, Louisiana
On June 1st, Thomas was arrested at the 200 block of North McNeil Street, in accordance with the warrant. Further research revealed that Thomas had stolen phone line from the Lakeshore area twice, and from another location near Bert Kouns and West Antoine Loop.
He was consequently booked into Caddo Correctional Center on a felony theft charge and for the original arrest warrant. The investigation is still ongoing, with more arrests believed to be in the pipeline.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
