Louisiana Man Arrested After Allegedly Shooting Three People and Killing One at Convenience Store in St John the Baptist Parish

St John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana – A Louisiana man has been arrested after he allegedly shot three people, resulting in the death of one man at a convenience store in St John the Baptist Parish.

On April 14, 2023, the St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that detectives are investigating a shooting that injured two people and killed another man at a convenience store in the 3900 block of West Airline Highway in Reserve, Louisiana.

Deputies were called to the business at midnight in response to a shooting involving many victims. Officers arrived to find the body of Henry Jamal Malancon Jr., 26, of Mt. Airy Louisiana, with gunshot wounds on the ground in the parking lot. Officers later discovered two more victims in a parking area behind the store. To provide assistance, emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene. The 24-year-old male from Reserve, Louisiana, and the 25-year-old female from St. Rose, Louisiana were both sent to a nearby hospital. A bullet reportedly grazed a woman’s head. She was treated and discharged. The man was shot in the leg and is currently in critical condition at a nearby hospital.

Trajuan Dixon, 26, of Garyville, Louisiana turned himself in shortly after and reportedly admitted to the crime according to reports from authorities. Dixon was charged with manslaughter and two charges of second-degree aggravated battery. At this moment, no motive is known.
