Louisiana Man Arrested After Allegedly Enticing a Juvenile to Have Sex for Money

Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office stated on September 15, 2022, that on September 13, CPSO investigators received a complaint about a child who was being enticed to have sex in exchange for money.

Detectives learned during the investigation that Kentrell A. Knighten, 38, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, sent lewd communications to the victim, who is under the age of 16, mentioning a sex act and how much money she would be paid in exchange.

Knighten was apprehended and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center after speaking with authorities. He was charged with indecent behavior with juveniles and trafficking children for sexual purposes. His bond was set at $500,000 by Judge Michael Canaday.

Detective Kara Adams of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is the case’s lead investigator.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
