Louisiana Man Arrested After Allegedly Entering an Elderly Women’s Home, Climbing on Her Roof, and Illegally Cutting Her Power
Union Parish, Louisiana – A Louisiana man has been arrested after allegedly entering an elderly women’s home, climbing on her roof, and illegally cutting her power.
The Union Parish Sheriff’s Office (UPSO) confirmed that a Marion, Louisiana man was arrested after allegedly illegally disconnecting the power from an elderly woman’s home.
Deputies were called to a residence near Marion, Louisiana in February of 2023 after an elderly woman reported that Jason Todd Brunson, age 40, of Marion, entered her home and began cursing and screaming. The victim volunteered to cook Brunson a meal in exchange for him leaving her house. She informed Brunson that if he continued to cause a commotion, she would notify UPSO. At this point, the victim claims that Brunson went onto her roof and proceeded to act strangely. According to the victim, Brunson climbed down from the roof and disconnected the electricity to her house a short time later.
The elderly woman was caring for two children who were present in the house at the time of the occurrence. The victim told deputies she was concerned about what Brunson may do next. Deputies searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate Brunson. Authorities restored power to the victim and children so they could have heat since the outdoor temperature was near freezing.
Deputies filed arrest warrants for Brunson, who was apprehended in Union Parish in March 2023. Brunson has been arrested and is being held at the Union Parish Detention Center. He is accused of Criminal Mischief and Cruelty to the Infirmed.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
