Acadia Parish, Louisiana – A Louisiana man was arrested on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, on multiple charges related to the alleged sexual abuse of a child under the age of 13. According to the Louisiana State Police (LSP), Julian “Trey” Aucoin III, 41, of Rayne, Louisiana was taken into custody by the LSP Special Victims Unit (SVU) in collaboration with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office, LSP Fugitive Apprehension Unit, LSP Criminal Intelligence Unit, and Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Office.
The investigation began on November 4, 2024, after detectives received a complaint regarding the alleged abuse. During the course of their investigation, detectives discovered that Aucoin had allegedly participated in numerous acts of forced sexual contact with the minor over a span of two years.
Based on their findings, a warrant for Aucoin’s arrest was obtained, and he was subsequently booked into the Acadia Parish Corrections Facility. Aucoin faces charges including three counts of first degree rape, victim under 13 years of age; sexual battery; and indecent behavior with juveniles.
According to records, this is the fourth time since 2021 that Aucoin has been booked on similar charges.
First degree rape is defined under Louisiana Revised Statutes (LA RS) 14:42 as a crime in which the victim is under the age of 13. LA RS 14:42 is a statute that makes it a crime to engage in non-consensual sexual intercourse with a minor.
The LSP SVU is a specialized unit that focuses on investigating crimes related to the exploitation of children and human trafficking. The unit works in partnership with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to rescue victims and bring perpetrators to justice.
This case remains under investigation, and authorities have not released any further information regarding the alleged abuse or the investigation.
