Louisiana – Motorists planning to travel on I-10 Eastbound and Westbound through the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge in Louisiana should be prepared for lane closures on Thursday, July 18, and Friday, July 19. The inside lanes in both directions will be closed from Exit 115 (LA 347, Henderson, Cecilia) to Exit 121 (LA 3177, Butte La Rose) to facilitate a scheduled herbicide application.

The closure will commence at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and is expected to last until 6:00 a.m. on Friday, depending on weather conditions. During this time, permit and oversize loads, as well as emergency vehicles, will be permitted to pass through the area but may encounter delays.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has planned this herbicide application to control vegetation growth on and near the bridge, ensuring the safety of motorists and maintaining the infrastructure’s integrity.

Travelers are advised to plan their trips accordingly, allowing for potential delays and taking alternative routes if possible.
