Vinton, Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced that the left lanes of Interstate 10 Eastbound and Westbound, from Exit 7 (LA 3063) to Exit 8 (Mile Marker 8) (LA 108) in Vinton, will be closed nightly. The closures are scheduled to begin on Monday, December 11, 2023, and will continue through Friday, December 15, 2023.
According to the DOTD, the closures will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly from December 11th to December 14th. On December 15th, the closure will take place from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following day.
The purpose of these closures is to allow crews to perform necessary soil work in the median of Interstate 10. This work is vital for the maintenance and improvement of the highway’s infrastructure.
Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and expect delays during the closure periods. Alternate routes should be considered to avoid any inconvenience or potential congestion.
The DOTD urges drivers to exercise caution and adhere to all traffic signs and instructions when driving through the construction zone. Reduced speed limits will be enforced for the safety of both workers and drivers.
