Closures Announced on Interstate 10 and US 165 in Calcasieu Parish
Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced several closures that will affect motorists in Calcasieu Parish. These closures are necessary for crews to carry out important construction work on the roads.
Starting from 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024, until 5 a.m. the following day, the right lane of Interstate 10 Westbound near Iowa, Louisiana, stretching from Mile Marker 47 to Exit 44, will be closed. This closure will allow crews to pour concrete for the new I-10 Westbound bridge.
Additionally, there will be a full closure of US 165 Northbound and Southbound at Interstate 10 near Iowa, Louisiana, from 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024, until 6 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024. This closure is also necessary for the construction work to take place.
Motorists are advised to take note of the following detour routes:
For US 165 Northbound, drivers should head east onto I-10 South Frontage Road, then proceed north onto LA 101, and finally, continue north onto US 165.
For I-10 Westbound, the suggested detour is to travel west onto LA 3258, then head north onto LA 383, and finally, go west onto the I-10 Westbound on-ramp at LA 383.
For US 165 Southbound, drivers should detour west onto LA 101, then go south onto LA 383, followed by heading east onto LA 3258, and finally, proceed south onto US 165. It is important to note that the I-10 Westbound on-ramp will remain open to US 165 Southbound traffic.
