Louisiana Human Trafficking Operation in Baton Rouge Leads to Arrest and Rescue of Victim by Louisiana State Police and Homeland Security Investigations

East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana - On March 14th, 2024, the Louisiana State Police Special Victim's Unit (LSP SVU) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) worked together to conduct a covert operation at a hotel in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This operation resulted in the arrest of Kevontae J. Reed, aged 28, from Baker, Louisiana on charges in connection with human trafficking and indecent behavior with a juvenile. Furthermore, a victim of human trafficking was successfully rescued during the operation.

Following the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Reed for the charges of Human Trafficking and Indecent Behavior With Juveniles. The warrant was issued by the 19th Judicial District Court. Reed is currently in custody at the East Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center. It was also found that Reed has a prior history of human trafficking offenses. 

The investigation into this case is still ongoing.
