Homer, Louisiana – On February 27, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a serious single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 2, near Bella-Vista Road. The incident resulted in the tragic death of 66-year-old Terry Ford, a resident of Homer, Louisiana.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Ford was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze eastbound on Louisiana Highway 2 when, for reasons that remain unclear, his vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree. The impact of the collision led to significant damages, and Ford was transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.

At the time of the crash, Ford was properly restrained. Authorities have stated that impairment is not suspected in this case, but standard procedure dictates that toxicology samples were collected from Ford and will be submitted for analysis to rule out any potential factors contributing to the incident.

The Louisiana State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, seeking to determine the exact cause of the vehicle’s departure from the roadway.
