Caddo Parish, Louisiana – A former high-ranking officer with the Bossier City Police Department has been arrested on felony charges, following an investigation by the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations. Richard McGee, a 57-year-old from Shreveport, Louisiana was taken into custody on allegations of carnal knowledge of a juvenile, a crime he allegedly committed between 1994 and 1999.

The investigation began in January of this year after the Louisiana State Police received information regarding malfeasance in office involving McGee, who was then a Deputy Chief with the Bossier City Police Department. Malfeasance in office refers to the act of engaging in corrupt or improper behavior while holding a position of authority.

As investigators dug deeper, they uncovered evidence of McGee’s involvement in the alleged crime, which led to the issuance of an arrest warrant through the 1st Judicial District Court (1st JDC). McGee was subsequently arrested and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on charges of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

The Louisiana State Police have not released further details about the case, but the arrest is a significant development in the ongoing investigation. The charge of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile carries serious penalties, including imprisonment and fines.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
