Louisiana Felon Arrested Suspected of Aggravated Burglary and Possession of a Firearm After Breaking into a Home in Lake Charles

Lake Charles, LA – A Louisiana man has been arrested, suspected of aggravated burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after allegedly breaking into a home.

On January 12, 2023, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) reported that on January 11, at approximately 3:30 p.m. CPSO deputies were dispatched to a home on Arabie Road in Lake Charles, Louisiana in reference to a burglary in progress.

Deputies arrived to discover a man subsequently identified as Djuan H. Bowser, 42, of Lake Charles, lying on the living room floor of the victim’s home. Deputies searched the property and discovered some of Bowser’s items as well as a firearm in the backyard. Deputies also discovered a location near his possessions where he appears to have hopped the fence to obtain access to the victim’s property.

When detectives interviewed the victim, she indicated that she heard a loud banging on the back door and saw a man running in the backyard. She claimed Bowser pushed her and forced his way into her home after she cracked open the back door. Due to the fact that Bowser was under the effect of suspected narcotics, detectives were unable to obtain a statement from him.

Bowser, a convicted felon, was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on charges of aggravated burglary and felon in possession of a firearm. His bond was set at $175,000 by Judge Tony Fazzio.

Sr. Cpl. Robert Henrikson of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is the arresting deputy in this case. Detective Michael Miller of the CPSO is the case’s principal investigator.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty.
