Richland Parish, Louisiana – A tragic single-vehicle crash on Johnny Walker Road at John Crocker Road in Richland Parish, Louisiana resulted in the loss of life of 51-year-old Gustavo Razo of Brownsville, Texas, on Sunday, June 16, 2024.
According to the preliminary investigation by Louisiana State Police Troop F, Razo was operating a Can-Am Outlander northbound on Johnny Walker Road when he made a right turn onto John Crocker Road, followed by a sharp left turn. This series of actions led to the vehicle overturning, resulting in Razo’s death at the scene.
The investigation revealed that Razo was not wearing a DOT-approved helmet at the time of the crash. Routine toxicology samples were collected and will be submitted for analysis. The incident remains under investigation, and the exact circumstances leading to the crash are still unknown.
The Louisiana State Police would like to remind the public that operating all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and utility task vehicles (UTVs) on roadways is illegal unless directly related to farming or other duties outlined by Louisiana Revised Statute 32:299.
