Louisiana Fatal Motorized Bicycle Crash Claims Life of Deville Man, State Police Investigating

Rapides Parish, Louisiana – In the Deville community in Louisiana, on Nation Road, a single-vehicle crash occurred on January 13, 2024, around 4:00 p.m., prompting a response from Louisiana State Police Troop E. Tragically, 48-year-old Brandon Jenkins of Deville, Louisiana lost his life in the crash.

According to the initial investigation, Jenkins was riding a motorized bicycle heading west on Nation Road when he fell off and suffered fatal injuries. While authorities are still looking into the exact reasons behind this incident, routine toxicology samples were collected for analysis.

Louisiana State Police emphasizes the dangers of distracted and inattentive driving, which continues to be a major cause of accidents in the state. They urge all drivers to remain vigilant as even a momentary lapse in attention can lead to devastating consequences.

So far in 2024, Troop E has investigated one fatal crash resulting in one fatality.
