Egan, Louisiana – A tragic single-vehicle crash on I-10 East near the Egan Exit on August 21, 2024, resulted in the death of 46-year-old Terrance Delahoussaye of New Iberia, Louisiana. The incident occurred shortly before 6:00 a.m. when Delahoussaye, who was riding a 2021 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, lost control of the vehicle and veered off the roadway to the left, striking a guardrail.
The preliminary investigation suggests that Delahoussaye, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was ejected from the motorcycle due to the impact, sustaining fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Although Delahoussaye was wearing a helmet, the incident highlights the importance of motorcycle safety and the need for riders to take extra precautions while on the road. According to the Louisiana State Police, standard toxicology samples were taken and submitted for analysis, and the crash is still under investigation.
