Marksville, Louisiana - Louisiana State Police Troop E started looking into a deadly single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 107 close to Louisiana Highway 1191 just before 4:00 a.m. on May 31, 2024. The crash resulted in the death of Curtis Lavalais, a 45-year-old from Mansura, Louisiana.

The initial inquiry showed that Lavalais was hit by a vehicle whose driver is unknown while he was walking in the southbound lane of Louisiana Highway 107, near Louisiana Highway 1191. Lavalais sustained fatal injuries and passed away at the location of the accident. The vehicle involved in the crash left the scene.
