Louisiana Fatal Crash on U.S. Highway 90 Claims Life of Lafayette Woman

Des Allemands, Louisiana – A two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 90 near Fonseca Lane in Des Allemands, Louisiana resulted in the death of 38-year-old Lauren Womack of Lafayette, Louisiana. The incident occurred on October 25, 2024, shortly after 11:00 a.m., and is currently under investigation by Louisiana State Police Troop C.

According to preliminary findings, Womack was driving a 2015 Honda Odyssey east on U.S. Highway 90 when her vehicle traveled off the roadway to the left, crossed the grass median, and struck a 2024 Honda CR-V head-on in the westbound lanes. Womack, who was not restrained, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the CR-V, who was restrained, sustained serious injuries and was transported to an out-of-area hospital for medical treatment. Standard toxicology samples were collected from both drivers and submitted for analysis to determine if any factors contributed to the crash.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials are working to determine the cause of the incident.
