Bossier Parish, Louisiana - On February 26, 2025, at approximately 2:25 p.m., troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 80 near Bellevue Road. The incident resulted in the tragic death of 43-year-old Ronnie Garcia, a resident of Haughton, Louisiana.
According to preliminary investigations, Garcia was driving a 1997 Toyota SUV eastward on U.S. Highway 80 when, for reasons that remain unclear, his vehicle exited the roadway and subsequently overturned. This type of incident, where a vehicle leaves the designated path of travel, can occur due to a variety of factors, including driver error or mechanical failure.
At the time of the crash, Garcia was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle upon impact, and was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding medical personnel.
While impairment is not suspected in this case, routine toxicology samples were collected from Garcia and submitted for analysis.
