Crowley, Louisiana — Louisiana State Police are investigating a deadly two-vehicle crash that occurred just after noon on Thursday, June 5, 2025, on Louisiana Highway 13 near its intersection with Airport Road. The incident resulted in the death of Roderick Boullion, 60, of Crowley.
According to a preliminary report from Louisiana State Police Troop I, Boullion was driving a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis northbound on LA Hwy 13. At the same time, a 2019 Kenworth commercial motor vehicle (CMV), commonly known as a large freight truck, was traveling south. For reasons still under investigation, Boullion’s vehicle crossed the center line into oncoming traffic, leading to a head-on collision with the Kenworth truck.
Boullion, who was properly restrained by his seat belt, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the commercial truck was also wearing a seat belt and was not injured in the crash.
As part of standard procedure in fatal traffic incidents, a routine toxicology sample was collected from Boullion and sent to a laboratory for analysis to determine if impairment may have been a factor. Louisiana State Police noted that the truck driver was not suspected of impairment and voluntarily provided a breath sample, which revealed no presence of alcohol.
The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing. Louisiana State Police are working to determine why Boullion’s vehicle traveled across the center line.
