The incident occurred on June 20, 2024, shortly after 7:00 p.m., and is currently under investigation by Louisiana State Police Troop I.

Preliminary findings indicate that Robertson was driving a 2012 Dodge Durango westbound on LA Hwy 86 when, for reasons still unknown, the vehicle veered off the roadway to the right and struck a tree. Louisiana law requires all vehicle occupants, regardless of seating position, to remain buckled up at all times.
