Castor, Louisiana – A single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 153 has resulted in the death of 39-year-old Andrew Borchers of Lexington, North Carolina. The incident occurred on October 30, 2024, at approximately 6:20 p.m., when Borchers’ 2002 Dodge pickup, which was towing a boat and trailer, exited the roadway and overturned.
According to the Louisiana State Police Troop G, who responded to the scene, the crash happened while Borchers’ vehicle was traveling south on Louisiana Highway 153. The preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle’s departure from the roadway caused the trailer and boat to become detached and collide with a parked truck that was occupied by another motorist.
Unfortunately, Borchers, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene. The occupant of the parked vehicle, however, was not injured.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and authorities suspect that impairment may have played a role. Toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis to determine if Borchers was under the influence of any substances at the time of the incident.
