Houma, Louisiana – Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash on Bayou Gardens Boulevard Extension between Louisiana Highway 660 and Louisiana Highway 316 on April 3, 2024, just before 6:00 p.m. The crash resulted in the death of 71-year-old Josephine Deion from Houma, Louisiana.
Preliminary findings showed that Deion was driving an eastbound 2006 Honda Accord on Bayou Gardens Blvd Ext when he collided head-on with a westbound 2012 Toyota Tundra for unknown reasons.
Deion, who was wearing a seat belt during the crash, sustained fatal injuries and passed away at the crash site. The driver of the Toyota, who was also wearing a seat belt, was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
Both drivers were tested for toxicology by collecting standard samples, which are currently being analyzed. The investigation of this crash is ongoing.
