Minden, Louisiana – Louisiana State Police Troop G initiated an investigation into a fatal two-vehicle collision on U.S. Hwy 371 at Doc Steed Road on the afternoon of Monday, December 4, 2023. The collision resulted in the tragic loss of Desiree Randle, a 35-year-old resident of Conway, Arkansas.

According to initial findings, a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Brandi Long, 34, was stationary on U.S. Hwy 371 and preparing to make a left turn onto Doc Steed Road. Simultaneously, Randle was driving south on U.S. Hwy 371 in a 2006 Nissan Sentra. According to reports from Louisiana State Police, Long failed to yield and entered the path of the Sentra as she attempted to turn, resulting in a head-on collision that caused the Sentra to catch fire.

Despite being properly restrained, Randle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Webster Parish Coroner’s Office. Long was unrestrained and suffered moderate injuries during the incident. A young passenger in the Silverado who was properly restrained also sustained moderate injuries and received treatment at the scene before being released by EMS personnel.

While there is no suspicion of impairment playing a role in this tragic event, standard toxicology samples were obtained for analysis as part of the ongoing investigation into this crash.
