Ponchatoula, Louisiana – On April 10, just after 10:00 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop L Troopers started looking into a collision involving three vehicles on LA Hwy 22 near West Timberlane Drive in Tangipahoa Parish. Sadly, Andrew Monistere, 59, from Ponchatoula, Louisiana lost his life in the crash.

According to the initial investigation, the crash happened when a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Monistere, was heading west on LA Hwy 22. At the same time, a 2022 Chevrolet Camaro and a 2022 Ford F-250 were both traveling east on the same highway. The 2022 Chevrolet Camaro was driving in front of the Ford. It is still unclear why the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro veered across the centerline and into the path of the eastbound vehicles. In order to avoid a collision, the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro went off the road to the right and ended up in a ditch. The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro then collided head-on with the Ford.

Monistere suffered severe injuries in the crash and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died. The driver of the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro was wearing a seatbelt and was unharmed. The driver of the Ford, who was also wearing a seatbelt, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
