Concordia Parish, Louisiana – A former Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) deputy, Javontrics Murphy, 27, of Natchez, Mississippi, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of first-degree rape, malfeasance in office, obstruction of justice, and simple battery. The Louisiana State Police Special Victim’s Unit (LSP SVU) conducted the investigation, which began on August 2024, after receiving a complaint from the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office regarding alleged inappropriate contact between Murphy and a 15-year-old juvenile prisoner during transportation to a juvenile facility.

Murphy was identified as the suspect after Louisiana State Police SVU conducted interviews on August 30, 2024. As a result, arrest warrants were issued for the aforementioned charges. He was subsequently arrested and booked into the CPSO Detention Center on September 5, 2024.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
