Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has released a statement regarding the upcoming closure of College Street from Kirkman Street to Louisiana Avenue in Lake Charles. The closure is scheduled to take place daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting on Monday, June 10, 2024, through Thursday, June 13, 2024.

During the closure period, the Interstate 210 Eastbound ramp at Exit 7 will also be inaccessible to drivers. This closure is essential as it allows crews to carry out resurfacing and striping work along the affected stretch of College Street.

The resurfacing and striping activities are crucial for maintaining the safety and quality of the road surface. These maintenance efforts aim to enhance the durability and overall condition of the road, providing a smoother and safer driving experience for motorists in the area.

Drivers are advised to plan their routes accordingly during the closure period and to take alternative routes to avoid delays.
