Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development Announces Bid Results for State Projects

From the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, Baton Rouge, LA – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that 12 projects around the state were let on August 11, 2021. Nine contractors presented apparent low bids totaling $31.7 million.
“We’re pleased to let another round of projects this month for our state’s residents and visitors,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “There are several major roadway rehabilitation projects on the horizon, especially in some of the northern parishes. While most of these are on extremely rural routes, they’re no less important than major thoroughfares, as all of our citizens deserve a high-quality transportation system.”
The projects and their apparent low bids are as follows:
Bridge Replacement and Repair:
- Replacement of bridge on Roundhill Rd. over Little Colewa Bayou in West Carroll Parish: $554,700.35
- Repairs to Black Bayou Bridge on LA 384 in Calcasieu Parish: $663,800.00
Pavement/ Overlay:
- Milling, overlay, and drainage on LA 132 between LA 561 and LA 135 in Richland Parish: $3,264,159.35
- Milling, patching, and overlay on LA 654 between LA 308 and Greens Short Cut Rd. in Lafourche Parish: $388,756.97
- Milling, patching, paving, and drainage on LA 514 and LA 507 between U.S. 371 and Bienville Parish line in Red River Parish: $2,521,217.83
- Grading, milling, overlay, and drainage on LA 126 between LA 1237 and Caldwell Parish line in Winn Parish: $6,946,333.02
- Milling and overlay on LA 441 between LA 42 and I-12 in Livingston Parish: $1,057,675.66
- Milling, overlay, and drainage on LA 414 between LA 413 and LA 415 in Pointe Coupee Parish: $6,824,326.48
- Milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on LA 3051, LA 3079, LA 543, LA 830-1, and LA 830-5 in Morehouse Parish: $5,352,127.50
Congestion Mitigation and Safety:
- Addition of westbound through lane on LA 428 at LA 23 in Jefferson Parish: $886,083.99
- Navigation lights replacement on I-10 Atchafalaya Basin Bridge in Iberville and St. Martin parishes: $2,649,418.25
Other:
- Sidewalks to White Castle High School in Iberville Parish: $572,641.39
Construction projects are prioritized by road/bridge condition, urgency of improvements, type/volume of traffic, crash records, unforeseeable emergencies that caused damage, and several other factors.
