On August 29, 2023, Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Strain and Governor John Bel Edwards led a team to Beauregard Parish to coordinate with the RED TEAM - Southern Area Incident Management Team.

The RED TEAM has collaborated with LDAF and local and state agencies, pooling together 224 personnel and extra firefighting equipment and resources for the Tiger Island Fire containment effort. Significant headway has been achieved on the front lines, but it is vital for everyone to remain vigilant in their contributions.

Officials have said that a crucial way to support the hardworking personnel is to abstain from burning anything, with no exceptions.
