Louisiana Deadly Three-Car Crash Claims Life on LA Hwy 659, Police Investigating

Houma, Louisiana – Louisiana State Police Troop C started investigating a fatal crash involving three vehicles on Louisiana Highway 659 near Lafayette Woods Boulevard on the evening of April 16, 2024, around 8 pm. One driver died in the crash. The identity of the driver is being withheld until next of kin is notified.

Initial findings indicated that a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am was heading north on LA Hwy 659 while a 2022 RAM 3500 and a 2023 Chevrolet Suburban were traveling south. The Pontiac crossed into the southbound lane, side-swiped the RAM, and then collided head-on with the Chevrolet.

The unrestrained driver of the Pontiac was fatally injured and died at the scene. Both the drivers of the Chevrolet and RAM were wearing seat belts. The driver of the Chevrolet had minor injuries, while the driver of the RAM was unharmed.

Samples for toxicology testing were taken and sent for analysis. The investigation into this accident is ongoing.
