Donaldsonville, Louisiana – A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred in Ascension Parish on September 25, 2024, after a BMW rear-ended a Ford pickup truck hauling a trailer on LA 70. The incident resulted in the death of 19-year-old Laterrius Williams of Belle Rose, Louisiana who was driving the BMW.
According to Louisiana State Police Troop A, the preliminary investigation revealed that the BMW, traveling northbound on LA 70, struck the Ford pickup truck from behind as the Ford approached the intersection of LA 3127. The Ford driver was attempting to merge into the right turning lane when the BMW impacted the vehicle at a high speed.
Williams was not properly restrained and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Ford was properly restrained and escaped the incident uninjured. Although impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, standard toxicology samples will be taken and submitted for analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.
