East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana – A single-vehicle crash on Highway 61 in Jackson claimed the life of a 35-year-old St. Francisville woman late Saturday night, according to Louisiana State Police.

Sentoria Roundtree died in the crash that occurred shortly after 11:00 p.m. on October 4, 2025, on U.S. 61 south of LA 964. Louisiana State Police Troop A troopers responded to the scene.

The preliminary investigation shows a 2020 Toyota RAV4 was traveling south on U.S. 61 when it left the roadway for unknown reasons. The vehicle traveled off the road to the right, entered a ditch, and struck a culvert.

Roundtree was riding as a front seat passenger in the Toyota and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. She sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota was also unrestrained and suffered serious injuries in the crash. Emergency responders transported the driver to a local hospital for treatment. The driver’s current condition has not been released.

Investigators have not determined what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway. Louisiana State Police collected routine toxicology samples to determine if impairment played a role in the crash, though alcohol or drug involvement remains unknown at this time.

The crash remains under active investigation by Louisiana State Police Troop A.
