Louisiana Crash Involving Teen Driver on Hwy 567 Claims Life of Motorcyclist

Catahoula Parish, Louisiana – A devastating two-vehicle crash occurred on Louisiana Highway 567 north of U.S. Highway 425 on August 7, 2024, resulting in the tragic death of 59-year-old Bobby Case of Clayton, Louisiana.

According to the Louisiana State Police, the incident took place at approximately 10:45 a.m. when a 1999 Ford F-250, driven by a 16-year-old juvenile, crossed the centerline and entered the northbound travel lane, striking a 1990 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Case. The impact caused the motorcycle to overturn, ejecting Case, who sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The juvenile driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, escaped without any injuries. Toxicology samples were collected from the driver and will be submitted for analysis to determine if any substances contributed to the crash.

While the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, authorities are highlighting the importance of staying alert and focused on the road. Distracted and inattentive driving continue to be leading causes of crashes in Louisiana, and the state police are urging all motorists to remain vigilant to avoid similar tragedies.
