Louisiana Convicted Felon Arrested for Allegedly Threatening to Shoot Another Man During a Dispute about a Dog
Raceland, Louisiana – A convicted felon in Louisiana was arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot another man while pointing a gun at him during a dispute about a dog. The incident was recorded on video.
On January 3, 2023, Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported the arrest of a convicted felon who allegedly threatened to shoot another man with a gun while pointing the firearm at him. Jason Bailey, 37, of Raceland, Louisiana was arrested on Monday morning immediately after the incident.
Deputies went to a disturbance in the 600 block of Danos Street shortly before 6:45 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2023, after Bailey, a convicted criminal, allegedly pointed a pistol at another man. Deputies discovered Bailey had arrived at the victim’s house and had a dispute about a dog. Bailey allegedly pointed the gun at the man and threatened to shoot him. The victim reportedly slammed the door shut. Bailey then yanked open the door and pointed the gun at the man once more. These events were recorded on video.
Bailey was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was booked into Thibodaux’s Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex. The bail amount is $100,000.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
