Louisiana Awarded Funding From the Justice Department to Improve Criminal Justice Data Research Capabilities

On September 6, 2022, U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Gathe, Jr. announced that the State of Louisiana has received $70,003 from the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs and its component, the Bureau of Justice Statistics, to expand, enhance, and maintain criminal justice data from law enforcement and construct a criminal justice performance retrieval system.

The criminal justice performance retrieval system will increase access to statewide criminal justice data for the study, analysis, data sharing, and report compilation to help Louisiana lawmakers.

The Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement is a Baton Rouge-based nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the operations of the criminal justice and juvenile justice systems and promoting public safety via progressive leadership and cooperation within the criminal justice community.
