Louisiana Avenue Closure in Lake Charles Starting June 2

The City of Lake Charles has announced that Louisiana Avenue between McCall and McNeese Streets will be closed to vehicular traffic as of today, Thursday, June 2, 2022.
Signs are up on McNeese, Kirkman, and McCall Streets, as well as Louisiana Avenue, directing motorists to available detour routes. In addition to Louisiana Avenue being closed between McCall and McNeese Streets, east and westbound traffic on McNeese Street in this area is reduced to one lane in each direction.

This closure is expected to last until 5pm on Friday, July 22, 2022, to allow contractors to complete drainage improvements in the area.

Drivers are advised to use caution and slow down in construction zones, as some detour routes pass through residential areas.
