Vinton, Louisiana – A hit-and-run crash occurred on September 20 in Vinton, Louisiana prompting the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office to seek the public’s assistance in locating the suspect. At approximately 9:00 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 2400 block of Toomey Road in reference to a hit-and-run incident.
According to the investigation, the driver of a white Ford Explorer was traveling south on Toomey Road when it attempted to make a left-hand turn into a parking lot. However, the suspect’s SUV turned in front of another SUV that was traveling north, causing a crash. The suspect then proceeded to enter the parking lot and exit onto Frontage Road, fleeing the scene.
The suspect’s vehicle, a white Ford Explorer, is expected to have significant front-end damage. Deputies have been unable to locate the driver of the SUV and believe the vehicle may not have a license plate on the rear.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information related to this incident to come forward. Anyone with details about the crash or the suspect’s vehicle is asked to call the CPSO at 337-491-3605. Sgt. Kerrick Gabriel, Jr., is leading the investigation.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
