Louisiana Authorities Report SNAP Benefits Compromised for Some Recipients, Benefits Being Used Without Authorization in Texas
Louisiana – On November 21, 2022, Sabine Parish Sheriff Aaron Mitchell reported that several residents in Sabine Parish have had their SNAP benefits compromised according to the Louisiana Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS).
According to authorities, at this moment, it appears that the benefits of some local victims were used at grocery stores in the state of Texas. In Texas, Many police department has also received complaints about the misuse of victim benefits.
Sabine Parish Sheriff Detectives are investigating these cases and gathering evidence.
Sheriff Mitchell advises SNAP recipients to verify their accounts. If you detect benefits missing that you did not authorize, please notify DCFS and your local law enforcement department.
Residents are also advised to keep their SNAP benefit information private and not divulge their card number or PIN to anyone.
