Louisiana Authorities Asking for Help in October 9 Homicide Investigation

The St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office revealed on October 10, 2022, that detectives are investigating a shooting that killed Yasmine Halum Haitham, 19, of LaPlace, Louisiana.

On Sunday, October 9, 2022, around 3 p.m., deputies responded to a complaint regarding gunshots heard in the 1400 block of Van Arpel Drive in LaPlace, Louisiana. Officers arrived to find a female victim, identified as Haitham, unresponsive on the driveway of a property. She’d received a gunshot wound to the chest. Haitham was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died. At this moment, no motive is known.
