Louisiana Authorities Arrest Man for Aggravated Battery, Attempted Home Invasion, Other Charges After He Allegedly Attacked A Family Member and Fled

Jennings, Louisiana – According to the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office, Deputies were dispatched to an address on Monnic Drive in Jennings, Louisiana, on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, in relation to a fight. While deputies were on their way, the complainant informed them that his nephew had attacked him with a stick and fled the area in a grey SUV.

According to the complainant, he retreated into his home, and the nephew attempted to gain entry by breaking a glass insert in the door and reaching in to open the door. The nephew was unable to gain entry into the house and departed the scene.

Deputies noticed damage above the complainant’s right eye and red markings on his face. The complainant alleged that he and his nephew had a fight over the phone and that the nephew showed up uninvited at the property.

Detectives arrested the nephew, Cameron Ray Cooper, 26, of  Union Station Parkway, in Lewisville, Texas on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, for aggravated battery, attempted home invasion, simple criminal damage to property, and criminal trespass.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
