Luling, Louisiana — A 58-year-old Luling man faces multiple felony charges following his arrest by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation on April 3, 2025.
Dirk Paul Webre, 58, of Luling, Louisiana was taken into custody and charged with two counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles and 92 counts of sexual abuse of an animal, according to a statement from Attorney General Liz Murrill’s office.
The investigation began after authorities received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The arrest resulted from a joint operation involving the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations.
“Unfortunately, these types of crimes our agents never run out of work on,” Attorney General Murrill said in the statement. “Great work by our LBI agents, deputies with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations, for getting this disturbing individual off the streets of Luling.”
Following his arrest, Webre was booked into the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center. Information regarding his bond was not available at the time of this report.
Under Louisiana law, possession of pornography involving juveniles (LA RS 14:81.1) and sexual abuse of an animal (LA RS 14:89.3) are both classified as felony offenses, which carry significant penalties upon conviction.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not released additional details at this time.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
