Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill has been appointed as co-chair of the National Association of Attorneys General's (NAAG) Tobacco Committee. This position tasks her with leading a coalition of 52 state and territory attorneys general in their efforts to enforce, defend, administer, and improve the Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement (MSA).

The Tobacco Committee plays a vital role in overseeing the MSA, a landmark agreement between the tobacco industry and state governments. In addition to her responsibilities related to the MSA, Attorney General Murrill will also provide leadership on tobacco matters not directly related to the agreement, including the growing concern of vaping. As co-chair, she will work closely with Vermont Attorney General Charity Clark, her bipartisan counterpart, to address the evolving landscape of tobacco-related issues.

Their leadership will be instrumental in shaping the national response to tobacco-related challenges and ensuring that state attorneys general remain at the forefront of efforts to protect public health.
