Locally Owned Discount Store in Louisiana Advertises Low-Priced Eggs Among “Eggflation”
Westlake, Louisiana - In recent months, egg prices have continued to rise in what some are calling "eggflation." A look at current prices at one of the local chain grocery stores in Southwest Louisiana shows 1 dozen eggs ranging in price between $4.60 and $7.00 depending on brand and egg size.
On January 26, 2023, Miller’s Super Saver in Westlake, Louisiana announced that they are selling a dozen eggs at the low price of $2.99 per dozen. Customers are limited to two dozen per day. Miller's said that the $2.99 price is their daily price, and will remain until their supplier increases prices. The store also noted that the price is for large brown eggs from a grocery store supplier and not local fresh eggs.
At the time, Misse's Grocery in Sulphur, Louisiana also has 1 dozen brown eggs on sale for an even lower price of $2.49.
Keep in mind that prices at either store can change at any time.
Miller's Super Saver is located at 1514 Sampson Street, in Westlake, Louisiana.
