 Live Traffic Cameras, Message Boards to be Installed on I-210 in Lake Charles Starting January 6

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a project to install live traffic cameras and Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) along I-210 in Lake Charles.

The $4.5 million project will include adding 9 live-stream cameras and 4 DMS at the following locations on I-210:

  • East of the I-10/I-210 West Interchange: two DMS (one in each direction)
  • North of the Prien Lake Bridge: camera
  • Cove Lane Interchange: camera
  • Nelson Road Interchange: camera
  • Lake Street Interchange: camera
  • Ryan Street Interchange: camera
  • Enterprise Boulevard/Louisiana Avenue Interchange: camera
  • LA 14 (Gerstner Memorial Drive) Interchange: camera
  • Kayouche Coulee Bridge: camera
  • North of the Legion Street Interchange: DMS
  • Business US 90 (Broad Street) Interchange: camera
  • US 90 (Fruge Street): DMS

Once installed and operational motorists may view live traffic conditions on the Live Traffic Cameras in Southwest Louisiana page on this website. DMS will provide traffic or project related information to those traveling I-210. Similar live traffic cameras and DMS are already available along I-10 in Lake Charles and Sulphur and can be viewed on this page.

The project is set to begin January 6, 2020, weather permitting. All scheduled lane closures will be announced on our Southwest Louisiana Live Traffic Maps and Updates page. The project is anticipated to be completed early 2021 with progress dependent on weather.

The contractor on the project is Ozark Traffic Management.
