Le Chien Cookers Celebrates 7 Years of Dutch Oven Cooking in Southwest Louisiana

Local Dutch Oven Cooking Group Celebrates 7 Years of Cooking and Teaching

The Le Chien Cookers have been demonstrating camp Dutch oven cooking in Southwest Lousiana since August 2011. This Saturday, August 25, the group will be celebrating 7 years of cooking and teaching at Sam Houston Jones State Park in Moss Bluff.

The Le Chien Cookers is organized exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes. To promote the opportunity for all Dutch Oven cooks to gather and better their skills through friendly Dutch Oven Gatherings (DOG). Promote the art of Dutch Oven cooking through demonstrations and local DOGs. Engage in charitable, literary, social, educational and other activities that promote the art of Dutch Oven cooking.

The group meets every fourth Saturday of the month at the riverside pavilion located in Sam Houston State Park. Le Chien Cookers invites the public to participate and enjoy sampling foods they have prepared free of charge. The group starts cooking around 9 AM, and dishes are available for tasting at noon.
