Lane Closures in Lake Charles on Opelousas Street and Kirby Street Beginning June 1

The City of Lake Charles has announced two temporary road closures that are set to begin on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. 

On Wednesday, June 1, beginning at 7 a.m. both the east and westbound lanes of Opelousas Street, between Prater Street and Orrin Street, will be closed to vehicular traffic. This closure is to allow contractors to make repairs to an underground gas utility line. Weather permitting; this closure is expected to last until 5pm on Wednesday, June 8.

Also, beginning Wednesday, June 1, both lanes of Kirby Street, between Pithon Street and Lakeshore Drive, will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
This closure is to allow contractors to complete repairs to the 14th Judicial District Court building and roof. Weather permitting; this closure is expected to last until Saturday, July 30.
