Lake Charles Woman Arrested for Theft From Sulphur Business Where She Worked
Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported on July 8, 2022, that on July 6, deputies from the CPSO were dispatched to a business on South Huntington Street in Sulphur, Louisiana, in reference to an internal theft. During the initial investigation, the complainant informed deputies that one of the employees, Ashley E. Bourgeois, 35, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, had used a company credit card for personal purposes. Bourgeois stole over $9,000 since December 2021, according to the preliminary investigation.
Bourgeois, who was fired the same day, was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.and charged with theft $5,000 to $25,000. She was released on a $7,500 bond set by Judge Clayton Davis the following day.
Sr. Cpl. Jake Schiro and Deputy Hedgemann Carter of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office made the arrests in this case. Detective Lukas Josker of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is the case’s lead investigator.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
