Lake Charles, Louisiana – Residents of Southwest Louisiana are urged to remain vigilant as the National Weather Service in Lake Charles reported that Southwest Louisiana will have an active weather pattern with multiple rounds of heavy showers and the chance for severe weather Thursday afternoon through Friday.
The main concern highlighted by meteorologists is the risk of flash flooding, particularly on Thursday evening and night. Widespread rainfall accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are expected across the region, with some areas likely to experience even higher amounts. As a result, a Flood Watch has been put into effect for Thursday and Friday.
The focus remains on Southeast Texas and central Louisiana, where the potential for flash flooding poses the greatest danger. Residents are advised to exercise caution and be prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions. Multiple rounds of severe weather are anticipated during this period.
