Lake Charles, Louisiana - Partial Lane Closure Scheduled for LA 385 (Ryan Street) in Lake Charles for Utility Improvements

LA 385 LA 385 (Ryan Street) southbound in Lake Charles will experience a partial lane closure this Friday, June 20, as utility work is scheduled between Aqua Drive and West McNeese Street. According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), the right lane closure will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and is expected to impact local traffic through much of the business day.

The lane closure is necessary so crews can safely conduct planned maintenance and upgrades to local utility infrastructure. These improvements often involve repairs or enhancements to critical services such as electricity, water, or telecommunications.

The DOTD encourages drivers to plan ahead to avoid delays. With only the right lane closed, traffic congestion may be lighter than with a full closure, but motorists are still advised to seek alternative routes if possible or consider leaving earlier than usual to reach their destinations on time. No official detours have been announced, but motorists should expect reduced speed limits and increased signage in the work zone. DOTD also reminds drivers to remain alert for workers and to obey all posted safety instructions to protect both themselves and road crews.
