Lake Charles Traffic Delays: I-10 Westbound Lane Blocked Near Calcasieu River Bridge

Lake Charles, Louisiana – A disabled 18-wheeler is blocking the right lane of Interstate 10 westbound in Lake Charles, near the top of the Calcasieu River Bridge, as of 11:25 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025. The incident, which occurred during the busy late-morning traffic period, has resulted in a significant traffic backup extending past the Enterprise Boulevard exit.

Motorists traveling through Lake Charles should expect substantial delays due to the blocked lane. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has recently implemented several closure and roadwork projects in the area, which have already impacted I-10 and surrounding service roads this month. Incidents such as this disabled truck can further complicate traffic patterns, especially on major infrastructure like the Calcasieu River Bridge, a high-traffic crossing that regularly serves as a bottleneck for regional travel between Lake Charles and Westlake.

Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes if possible.
